Sorry, but I don't use them.  I have actually been given several units over the years and never hooked any of them up.  I eventually gave them away.  I much prefer the simplicity of kalkwasser.

In the past, I have used DIY soda bottle systems (tend to clog), Kent Aquadoser (worked very well), and even Anthony's slurry method.

That's interesting,  do you find limewater meets all your calcium and alkalinity needs?  Or do you supplement with 2 part as well?

I'm running limewater topoff, have a calcium reactor running, and still need to buffer with 2 part occasionally.

(on a side note,  from your green house thread I gather you live in the Pittsburgh area, can you recommend any good LFSs down that way that have a good selection of colorful sps type corals?  I usually go to buffalo, but Pittsburgh isn't much farther.)

Thanks

Sam

I was able to maintain calcium and alkalinity through kalkwasser, but I also always had a high evaporation rate (1 gallon evaporating per 50 gallon display per day).

For area fish shops, I would take a look at Elmer's, Wet Pets, Aquaworld, Seahorse, and Atlantis.

It is not quite a slurry.  I only use the fully dissolved portion of the kalkwasser solution, but otherwise I don't drip it in anymore.

I have played around with Red Sea's Reef Success Calk lately as well, but am still using regular kalkwasser to maintain calcium and alkalinity levels.

Steven

I was wondering on water changes how you keep your parameters up there. When you do,do a water change do you suppliment the water with kalk?

No, I usually use a commercial buffer and a calcium chloride supplement to boost freshly made saltwater.
