| I have a 240 gal, 330 gal system setup. I would like to use two model 530's inline just for water polishing. I was wondering what size pump would I need to use? I was considering a Blue Line 100HD 45' max head, 1900 gph, 1" in/1" out. Pretty much the same as a panworld 250PS. Thanks

| The max flow rate recommended for the Nu Clear is 1200 gph, so as long as with head pressure you are below that with the blue line it should be fine. Otherwise I would recommend going one size smaller. HTH,

| ok... But with two filters inline with each other, on one pump I figured it would drop the gph.. Am I thinking right?? or the pressure will drop but the GPH through the filters will stay the same.... Witch one is correct?? Or little bit of both?? The next size smaller pumps are the 70HD 1750 GPH, 39' max head the same as a Pan World 200PS 1750 GPH, 39' max head 55HD 1100GPH, 28' max head the same as a Pan World 150PS 1100 GPH, 28' max head

| The pressure should stay the same, but gph drop but I am not sure how much each filter (this is assuming clean filters not clogged with detritus) will decrease the flow. I believe with about 4 feet of head pressure the 70HD (200PS) will be flowing around 1500 gph. What you may want to do is add a ball valve on the outlet side of the pump so you can slow down the flow some if needed. Going with the 55HD (150PS) will drop you below the 1200 gph at 4' (I think right around 1080 gph) so you wouldn't need to use a ball valve to slow the flow, but would be below the max flow. HTH,

If you Polish the water you will polish everything small out of the water. Including the copods in your gravel, benificial algae, good microbes, snail larve and other larve. Some of your additives will be gone. I just cleaned my overflow sponge, was done Jan 07, hated doing it but it wouldn't pass enough water. My trickle plate pad, can't even remember when I lasted cleaned it. It still drips half the water thru it, the rest bypasses it. My final sponge filter has three holes bored thru it for an escape route. At night one of my pumps shuts off and becomes a filter bypass for my sump. My water is crystal clear.
90Overflow, wet dry, home made skimmer; self cleaning, w/800 rio. Two return pumps, one off at night. 384W PC. Reverse flow under/over gravel filter. Fish, LR, some corals. Aquarium has over head matching cabinet.

| ok thanks for the info.. I think I'll go with the 70HD.. Good flow and Pressure and will just add a ball valve. Thanks
