Hi,

Do you have any experience dosing Flagyl or Metronidasol into a reef tank?

If so what is the reccomended dose?

Thanks in advance.

I do not recommend adding any medication to a tank that has substrate or porous materials.  These can absorb medications and make achieving a therapeutic level (amount of medication needed for complete treatment) difficult.

Why do you want to add metronidazole to your reef tank?

Thanks for your answers.

I have a couple of angelfish that were in QT for 3 weeks, after added to the tank about one week later one of them stopped eating, we too a scrap from the fish head + gills , under a mircrosope it was diagnosed with Hexamita.

It also had some clear slime mocus coming out of the anus when we pressed it to get something to check under the microscope.

I would treat in a separate tank.

Any pics of the hexamita under the scope?
