| Currently under construction, about 1800L (about 500 gals):

The entire left side of the tank is the weir which will also double up as primary RDSB. Currently awaiting an OM 8-way for the closed loop and it will be suplpemented with a TS-24 kit and a wavebox. Return water will be re-distributed through 8 flexible nozzles mounted underneath the braces around the perimeter of the tank. The lighting support frame slides out of the way to provide access from both the front and back of the tank for maintenance. Framework is kept lightweight and open for mounting of cooling fans. First water should be around mid-May 2007. Tone

Very nice. It looks like you have thought out what you are doing instead of just jumping in to it (a lesson I need to learn ).Looking forward to seeing the progression.

| Some more pictures of the progress ... slowed by the long delivery lead in times of key equipment. Fortunately that has allowed me to properly plan and execute the important aspects of the build. Work expands into the time available! The return loop is in place ...
The OM 8-Way arrived. What a monster thing! A special glass support bracket will be made to stabilise it.
Lighting is proving easy to adjust in place due to the design of the support framework.
The Lunar Tracker 5-Light System is now also installed. The next trick is to get the electrical installation to look neat and tidy and to facilitate that I'll be using a couple of Chauvet rack-mount power panels to deal with the switching requirements. Tone

| Sump and 'fuge installed ... all pumps in place ... chiller installed ... UV waiting for installation in the chiller loop but not a critical activity. Electronic lighting ballasts all installed ... one fell onto my head during installation - so much for industrial strength double sided tape! Much pain and cursing!! Electrical control cupboard almost complete ... needs disassembly for painting and installation to its final position. Blank spots are for the SMS 125 and the Tunze 7095 controllers to come off my 5' reef. All wiring roughed in ready for cover ducting. OM 8-way plumbing is proving to be a bit more difficult to install than what i had anticipated.

Bermuda! I wish!! I added the premium LR from my 600L tank and the inhabitants yesterday. The tank was filled LR and NSW about 6 weeks ago and aged first before any stock was introduced ... first in were the clams about 4 weeks ago. Clams range in size from 18" to 7" across. The system has been regularly tested in this time and the water parameters have been surprisingly excellent -- very little algae ... no cyano ... a bit of Derbesia sp. that the hermits and snails devoured.

My new 'baby' 6" long!
Still have to finish the installation of the final 2 x 250W x 14,000k MH lamps.

| Thanks Kelly, Installations are now pretty much 100% complete and the frags are starting to go in. Also experimenting with a big recirculating double beckett ... tried it with a Iwaki MD55R but will need something closer to the MD70 or MD100 to run this baby efficiently.
