| Hello, I need some advise on a dogface puffer and a porcupine puffer compatibility. They are in a 110 gallon tank with lots of live rock and a few other fish. I've had a lot of different opinions searching over the net and most say they are not compatible. Please give me your expert advise. My wife new I wanted a dogface and decided to surprise me with one but she couldn't resist the porcupine also. The man at the fish shop told her they were compatible, But my resources told me they weren't. Please give me your advise on what is right from wrong. I don't want total chaos to happen with the two. Thanks.

| Puffers are like people - sometimes they get along & some times they do not. I have kept porcupine puffers with dogface puffers before without incident but they are in larger tanks....... The best chance of keeping two puffers together is to get two different species - diodon and arothron are usually good companions....but watch carefully. A larger tank is also needed to ensure cohesiveness not to mention this tank will be too small for an adult porcupine puffer. The bioload is heavy with the two puffer as "well as a few other fish". Frequent water changes are going to be needed in order to maintain water quality.

| Thanks for the reply. I plan on getting a larger tank in the future. How large of a tank do you think would be suitable for them. I also have a scopas tang, foxface, lunare wrasse, a maroon clownin the 110G with about 150+ #'s of live rock.

| I done some measuring in my house and it seems that the 110g is the largest tank I got room for. Nothing 6 foot will fit. Would the 2 puffers be fine inthe tank by them selves.
