Hi Kelly,
What would your diagnosis be here? It's been this way for about a year.
Getting no better, no worse? I started to feed chaeto from my refug.(I rubber band it) and have been adding some B gluecan to food the last month. I don't see any improvement. Other food is Nori, mysis,Formula 1, spirualina brine, Formula 2 flake.
Any other suggestions? other then moving it into
natural sunlight?
I've read Stevens article also.
Could I be stuck here?
Thanks,
Tom
It's symetrical on the other side of the fish except for the
spot under the dorsal fin.

| Tom, Definitely MHLLE. I have one that actually looks worse and has been that way since I rescued it over 10 years ago. Many times the scarring is irreversible - although a product called regranulex which is used for human burn patients has been used successfully for MHLLE - unfortunately it requires several applications to the area and is expensive (~ $600 - 1,000!!!) While the fish may not be as "pretty" with the MHLLE - it is usually healthy/happy. What are your nitrates? Do you use carbon? Thanks for contributing/sharing to this forum/hobby.
Kelly

Funny you should ask.
When I purchased this Salfin, I was in the process of making agressive changes to
lower my nitrates. This was about a year ago. And when the MHLL started. I just added 2 new children to my family and I let waterchanges go for some time. I won't tell you how long. I shouldn't have purchased him at that stage.
My nitrates now are 0, have been for while now.
I do use carbon? bi montly changes/additions
Thanks,
Tom
