My first tank was a 75g with an AquaC EV180. That skimmer put out a TON of skimmate and was pretty much plug-n-play. The only thing I found it to be fussy over was the depth of water it sat in, but what internal skimmer isn't? It's easy to tweak to just what you want. I'd highly recommend going for the 180 rather than the 120, but I am just basing that on personal experience.

Id go with a needlewheel over a injector driven AquaC skimmer any day. Less fussy, less wattage(more efficient)... better performance IMO... the pump is included... This one would be my choice: http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ER1415

I’m running now an EV-120 in a 55 Gal. tank. The same skimmer was running in my 75 Gal old tank. I’d seen an EV-180 running on a 90 Gal tank, and an EV-240 on a 60Gal. IMO if you can, the best choice is an EV-180. As Amy says the principal difficulty in these skimmers is the sensibility to the level of water in the sump. But if you use a top off system this will not be a problem. Water level will be always the same, and your skimmer (and more important: your animals) will be fine.

| Well, I've been using the EV-120 on a 90 gallon system for the past few years, and it's worked great. The skimmer just needed some minor adjustments & it certainly did it's job. I can understand the problem Tippy mention, on the water volume changing and causing the skimmer not to skim. Had the same problem for a while, and then i decided to place the skimmer outside the fuge, and it made a big difference. I placed the pump directly in front of the skimmer, so the level of the water doesn't change, since it's placed in the first chamber of the fuge. Also the air valve is completely open, and the water valve has never been changed since the first day it was adjusted. Hopefully these pics will help you decide.
