Anthony,
Just finished your "Book of Coral Propagation", really enjoyed it and learned a lot to boot . I am in the process of setting a 40G propagation tank. I have have no illusions of pulling a profit (just for fun), but would like to grow some nice corals (mostly SPS's). With that being said, can you give me some suggestions on where to get some good seed stock? You mentioned the use of a 'jobber' in your book, but I have found little to no info online on how to actually engage one. I am collecting pieces from the local clubs, though everyone seems to have the same stuff. I have also purchased some pieces from different geographical areas, but it does not scale that well.
Any suggestions on good sources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
John

A jobber, selection service, or cherry picker is someone who picks fish for a retail facility. I don't know if you could get someone to work for you without a store front and a resale license. With only a 40 gallon tank to work with, I would select one to three species to work with and stick with those. Otherwise, competition betweem the specimens is going to become too great to be workable.
Steven Pro, yeah that is my real name.

| cheers, John... thanks for your very kind words. I do keep a list of "fav links..." in a sticky thread atop this forum. In it is a lot of info on most any topic you can imagine. This one too indeed. If you check the alphabetical list you will see a link for aquarium business threads. The RC thread listed is quite thorough anmd lists trade journal names/refs to find mfgs, jobbers, etc. Please do take the time to check out that "Fav Links..." sticky. A wealth of info if I may say so. To help save some time (but hopefully not learning for you), do check out the good folks at www.am4fish.com They are some of the oldest and most experienced folks in the business. My favs.

I have to second Anthony's recommendation for AquaMarines - (am4fish.com). Dennis & Eric Reynolds are wonderful people. They do only sell wholesale though
