Hi Anthony
Well, the Sebae has arrived. It finally seems to have settled in. Initially upon introduction to the tank, it kept allowing itself to be moved by the currents. When an anemone retracts its tentacles and pulls it's sheaf up and around itself, is this a way it configures itself so that it can move? It has wedged its foot between some rocks to anchor itself, yet the foot is entirely off the sand. Is this normal? I thought crispas liked to have their foots buried in the substrata. Anyhow, those are my initial questions, I'm sure I'll have more!! I keep this post updated semi-regularly. Thanks (Oh, by the way, you may have actually seen this Sebae in person this past Saturday. | most anemones are or at least can be highly motile. That which stimulates or irritates them will vary by many factors (water flow: volume and direction... substrate size and composition, etc.). There are no hard and fast rules I am aware of regarding foot up, foot down, curled caps, etc. This specimen appears to have excellent tentacle extension, but very poor color (way too translucent... typical of crispa handling as you know). Focus on feeding it regularly (try to small portions daily) You will see a bit of an "ugly" blotchy appearance likely as the zoox recover. No worries... this is truly a good sign on its way to a recovery (darker and healthy pigmentation) Thanks for sharing bro! Looking forward to seeing your progress Anth-

Thought I'd give you an update, with updated picture. The anemone moved several weeks ago and seems to have settled nicely between rocks with base in sand. Seems very happy and has formed/wrapped itself between/amongst the rock. I have been feeding it silversides, about every other day, only about a half a silverside, and then standing guard so my cleaner shrimp won't steal it!!! I re-read your post about feeding smaller stuff, and I do feed the tank cyclopeeze. This might explain however why one day I noticed what seemed to be the skeleton of a silverside. Wondered where that came from? Anyhow, I think the picture will show progress as far as color. The tentacles have really colored up well, not being the transparent whitish any more - more brownish to cream colored. Let me know what you think.

| ah, yes... much thanks for the update! And indeed, the skeleton you saw was regurgitated and not digested (obviously). You need to feed small pieces my friend, else the anemone will continue to reguritate, not thrive and the wasted food will catch up to you (nuisance algae bloom in the future) from the accumulation. The compatability problem with food being stolen from the anemone needs to be addressed... with a slurpgun for the theives

| hope you don't mind me jumping on board here but I got a very similar looking sebae coming next week. Just curious what your acclimation procedures were with this anem? I've kept just about every other anem except these. It is sure to be host by a pair of Chrysopterus clowns I already have. Mine will be kept under 250MH HQI with 110W PC actinic, dart for closed loop, horizontal overflow with mag 18 return, MRC-2 skimmer thoughts, suggestions, etc. appreciated Eric

Well, the anemone is still doing great. I've attached a couple of pictures. My initial acclimation procedure was nothing different than a normal acclimation for all creatures. As far as my setup in lighting, I am using a T-5 setup, 6 bulbs, 3 Actinic + and 3 Aquablues, set about 3" above water. The tank is 24" deep, but seems like enough light. Anemone is positioned in front corner. Now, I'm definately no expert, or even close. I've had issues with Acro, Monti, and other "sps", but seem to do well with "lps", although all need to be placed towards bottom in tank. As far as feeding anemone, I target feed about every three days, alternating between mysis and small pieces of silversides. I find if the silverside is too big, it tends to regurgitate/expell it later. I normally have to keep guard over my cleaner shrimp, famous for stealing, so I normally target feed them before, to keep them busy. Other fish don't seem to steal. As far as the anemone roaming, this happened initially several times until I kind of understood the type of location, flow, etc that it was seeking. Then I tried to duplicate this in the spot I wanted him, kind of blocking him with rocks and directing gentle flow in such a way that it would keep him in the spot. Has worked so far. Anyhow, that's my experience so far, he seems very healthy and colored up real nice. Let me know if you have any other questions.

| so your anenome settled in the rocks? how big is it? the one I'll be getting is completely purple, will yours end up that way too or is it just the picture?
