| Anthony - I really apologize for bothering you with this, but could you please direct me to a source for a curved PVC bulkhead I could use on a 5G bucket to build a RDSB? I know that I've seen you mention one in one of the links in your sticky postings, but I lost track of which link and post and I can't get a search function to return anything. Obviously, if someone else can help, that'd be great as well. Thank you very much in advance!

| I'm going to use Uniseals on my bucket. If you want to know where I got them, PM me and I'll send you a link. I'm not sure outside retail links are allowed.

| The uniseals are a fine choice. For a standard curved wall bulkhead and many other awesome plastic parts and gadgets see U.S. Plastic Corp. (Lima OH)

Not exactly your question, but....
You know those 5g containers you can buy at LFS to transport water? (I like to call them water cubes)
Anyhow, I'd suggest you use one of those for a RDSB. They seal nicely, are easy to fill, and have a threaded female hose connection built into the cap, which I used for putting water into the tank.
I'll be posting pics soon about my recent implementation of this.

Please do. I've actually already got three of those at the house, so I could afford to serve one up to the DIY deity. While I'm learning and asking asking questions, is something like a MJ 600 going to be right for providing flow to this bad boy?

spot on bro... those little maxi-jets are quite popular with the RDSB folks. not too much flow but efficient energy use and long lasting.

Excellent. More money saved - I've only got about 20 of those things laying around. Thanks again, sir!

I love the idea of finding a use for one of the 2 dozen round salt buckets that I have laying around. However, 2 of those round bulkheads cost almost $45. I opted for $10 worth of regular bulkheads and a square bucket. I posted some photos here:

Square buckets can be tricky to find. Up here they sell rock salt in square buckets at the grocery store. However, if you live somewhere where you don't need rock salt to melt ice... they probably don't have them. Sometimes bakeries have them. They can also be ordered from emergency essentials for about $12 (cheapest place that I could find to have a single bucket delivered).
