These little growths are stuck to even our plastic decor, and inside our protein skimmer. They came in when we added our last 2 live rocks. We don't think these are something we should have in the tank. But we don't know how to get rid of them or even what they are. They seem to grow quickly.

It is hard to see them, but I think what you are talking about are a white sponge which are harmless.
Do a google search for pineapple sponge and let me know if that is what you are seeing.

Yes, we are seeing the pineapple sponge. What can we do to stop them from taking over the tank?

Yup...they will naturally go away, so no need to worry about it. They are actually good for the tank as they filter the water.
