I just had a bad thought as I was doing a water change. My overflow box is the type that has a small powerhead that is connected via a small airline to the top of the siphon. As I was cleaning the tank I bumped the pump and the hose popped off and air rushed into the siphon elbow. I watched what would happen and the tank started to fill and would have eventually overflowed onto the floor if I hadn't reconnected the hose I used to have a u-tube type overflow box but that was a pain too. Any thoughts????

There are two different things you could do. First is to use a zip tie to secure the airline onto the nipple more securely. Second is to set up a sensor that will shut off your main pump if the water level gets too low in the sump.
