| Hi Folks, Another - really stupid - myth is that corals don't need to be fed. Here the difference between what many aquarists read about photosynthesis and zooxanthellae and the reality of the animal's physiology comes back to bite them - or rather their starving animals.
Cheers, Ron

That one probably irks me the most. An animal has evolved the means to capture prey/food and a mouth to injest it yet they don't eat? I suppose polyps are just ornamental... Chuck

| Hi, Yeah, it has been pointed out by animal physiologists that, of all predators, stony corals have the largest percentage of their body devoted to food capture and ingestion. But... one can't convince many aquarists to feed them. Duh!!!

Yup! but tell them a tube filled with magnets will solve all of their aquarium woes and you can laugh your way to the bank... Chuck

| Hi, Yeah, I know. I am really sorry, at times, that I have a conscience and some degee of ethics, however, warped they might be; these values definitely keep me 1) poor and 2) out of politics.
Cheers, Ron
