I was messing around the back of my 29 gallon BioCube tonite and moved a bit of filter pad. This was hiding in back of it, in the corner where it gets constant waterflow and almost total darkness.
Should I leave it or go on the warpath?
I've been very lucky with Aiptasia, I've had almost none in 18 months, and have managed to nuke all of the ones I know about. This tank has softies, mushrooms, rics, zoas, candy canes, an open brain, some monti caps, daisy polyps... Various fish, snails, a couple pistol shrimp and blue-legged crabs.
The mystery guiy is quite small, maybe 1/2" tall, and maybe 3/4" across the tentacles. It's completely transparent. The Aiptasia I see at the lfs are usually an ugly brown, this thing looks like he's made of clear glass. I only see one.

Absolutely - and its in an easy place to get rid of. Try to stop or still the water flow in that corner and scrape it off with a credit card. Make sure no tiny dots of tissue are left after removal of the main anemone - the foot leaves little bits behind and these can be wiped clean with a scratch-free pad or even folded paper towel.

Thanks, guys! I didn't want to start killing something harmless, but that's why I asked...
I think it'll be out of the water if I turn the pump off, and hopefully I can get everything. It's so clear and the corner is so hard to see, but I'll take a paper towel to it.

They tend to be clear when in the dark and acquire zooxanthellae in the light - often ones inside overflows, sumps, plumbing lines, etc, make their way up towards the light as the symbiosis seems to confer an advantage even though the devils seem to do just fine without light, too.

I _hope_ I got everything! I enlisted my husband, he used a turkey baster while I held the light, then I stuck my finger in with a paper towel and finally managed to get the base. It was stuck inside a crack in the molding, and seriously hard to reach, but I hope I got it all.
I'll keep an eye on it!
