Hi Ron,
As a hitchhiker on some LR about 5 years ago, I got a Pacific echinometra urchin -- and it's been blowing smoke for the last few minutes, making a rather large mess in a 40 gallon.

A quick update -- he's (I think it's a he) still going, nearly 10 minutes later. But the tank's not getting that much murkier than it was a few minutes ago, so I think the other critters are having a snack.

| Hi, Congratulations, it's a boy!!! Yup, the sperm looks like that. Eggs would eventually make the water full of very tiny dots (urchin eggs are generally pretty small, around 100 to 200 micrometers). The sperm suspension is good food for the suspension feeders in your system, and it lacks much in the way of fats or other organics that could break down to pollutants. Cool!!
Cheers, Ron
