They had four sizes, this was the large size, 12" x 6" x 6". Not sure how much larger the X-Large was but this size looked like it would fit in most of my tanks. Not a bad purchase for $30.

On a trip up to the twin cities this week, I found a neat little item in one of the LFS that I have been trying to find, or have built for me for some time. An 12x6x6 acrylic introduction tank that can be placed inside the main display protecting the new addition from the other tank mates. I wish that I would have found one of these years ago.

Kevin, everything else in the tank is doing fine. This is the second time I have had a Naso die with similar symptoms, the other in a different tank.

Got any ideas why?

When I first noticed that there might be a problem, the fish was less active swimming around in the tank, it wasn't eating, and the coloration was darker than normal. Next day, it was in the anemone.

On a sad note, the past couple of days, I noticed my Blonde Naso was becoming very inactive and not eating much. The silver color was becoming more of a dark grey. I took the first picture Monday night. The next two were taken Tuesday afternoon. I guess I won't have to worry about feeding the carpet for a while...

Very cool. It should be interesting to watch them develop into their heirarchy as well. Do you have any recent FTS? It would be interesting to see how well the tank has matured since the start.

I got hold of some rejects from a pair of Picasso clowns that I placed in the QT tank. I was surprised at how quickly they went for the anemone having been tank bred. I am looking forward to watching the marking develope as time goes by.

wow. words cannot describe the beauty that you have created, I only wish that i had the time and money to set up something like that. don't get me wrong i love my 37 gallon tank, but what you have is just jaw dropping. how is everything doing? also do you QT each fish before you add them? if not then how come the tank doesn't get infected with something? i think my favorite is the Achilles tang.

Thank you! Things seem to be holding steady. There are days when I wonder if I haven't gone a little over board with the tanks. They take a lot of time and effort just to maintain them all. Some days, I wished I only had one tank.

The majority of my fish have only been temperature & drip acclimated. I have only put a few in QT. Originally, I had a 55 for QT and that was too small for a number of larger tangs I purchased. So I didn't use it. Not very good advice. I would QT at least the tangs if I had to do it all over again. I've had losses, but I think that the cleaner wrasses & running UV's on all of the tanks have helped keep them minimal.

I'd agree with you that the Achilles is a beautiful tang, but I have found that they are very solitare and don't seem to have the personality of some of the other tangs.

Thank you! The Dussumeri has always been one of my favorites, but I was so happy with the Naso, I went back and picked up a couple more for my 470 & 210. Smaller in size, they still looked just as awesome.

Newest addition to the tang family, an Acanthurus fowleri, (Horseshoe tang). Right now it is in QT before I put it in the big tank.

Absolutely amazing tank and fish. I've been reading this thread since the beginning and still amazed by it. Can you estimate how much you have put into this system so far, dollar wise?

That's a tough question. I stopped keeping track after I paid for the tank and equipment. If I were to guess, I would say in the 25 ~30K range.
