I had brand new one that a friend had that wouldn't work. Soaked it over night in vinegar, and it worked fine after that. Think it had some sort of dry lube on the plastic from the moulding process.

Welcome to the Marine Depot Forums.

I haven't used one of the Red Sea Prizm skimmers in a long time (probably 7-8 years ago), but I do recall it was a pain to get dialed in.

From what I remember I would start with the flow fully open and then every day would adjust the flow until I found the right spot where it was foaming up for me. But it never foamed a whole bunch and I would get very little skimmate from mine.

Are you getting any bubbles forming in side the skimmer?

Okay so my husband deployed and left me with a 75 gal saltwater tank. our skimmer died, so i bought a red sea prizm, and i have read the information book that came with it and its running i have tried adjusting it on a daily bases but im not getting any foam and i am afraid that the Nitrates and other items in the take are going to sky rocket if i can not get this up and running. it has now been in our tank for 19 days. if anyone has used this skimmer or knows how to adjust it to make it work corectly please let me know because i am at a loss.
