Have been every time I have checked, tank is 8 years old, I check every 2 weeks or so. I think the problem was circulation, oxygen levels, when the pump was only working 1/2 way, if even that, I had lots of powerheads moving water, but not really breaking the surface. The dose I use for baths: dose 1 gallon container. Dose per instruction for a 10 gallon volume. For example, if the directions state 'one capsule per 10 gallons', I add 1 capsule per 1 gallon. Well aerate the bath. Porous materials can absorb the medication and it will affect microfauna and biological filtration.
