In it he cites the study by Dr Colori. (Colorni, A. Aspects of the biology of Cryptocaryon irritans, and hyposalinity as a control measure in cultured gilt-head sea bream Sparus aurata, Dis Aquat Org 1:19, 1985).

I have had great success with hyposalinity and it is my first choice on cryptocaryon irritans treatment.

Steve Pro gathered & posted a list of articles on ich treatment/hyposalinity in the ich thread in my forum.

Here is his list:

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/sp/index.php

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-10/sp/feature/index.php

http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-jones/marineich.html

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2003/mini1.htm

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/dec2003/mini2.htm

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/jan2004/mini3.htm

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2004/mini4.htm

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/mar2004/mini5.htm

Hope this helps clarify.

Hyposalinity refs and studies

Hi Kelly:

Are you aware, or can you provide, any good references on the effectiveness of hyposalinity on the treatment of eukaryotic parasites in fish? I have a thread in my forum that I have answered insofar as my biological awareness of the nature of plasma membranes but am fairly unfamiliar with the literature in this area. I would go on a literature search, but thought you might be best to check with first...or come visit the thread. Thanks.
