Does anybody know anything about a DIY skimmer? I'd love to save myself some money and build one myself.

| Hi Matt, Are you looking for a skimming box for your pond or are you looking for a protein skimmer (air bubbles) for your pond?

sorry I should have been more specific, I meant skimmer box. Can you use a protein skimmer on a pond? I was hoping to maybe build a skimmer box out of some kind of plastic tub or the like.

| They do make protein skimmers for ponds, but they are quite large and don't work as well as skimmers on saltwater tanks. I tried doing a google search for DIY skimmer boxes and mostly everything was coming up with overflow boxes for fish tanks despite putting "pond" in the search field. I would think there has to be someone who has done this, but maybe they have not shared it on the web. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
