| I own a Coralife Super Skimmer 220. I'm wondering if there's a better pump for this unit. The pump that comes with the stock unit is the SAME pump as on the 125. This makes me think that either the 125 is over powered or the 220 is under powered. Has anyone replaced the needlewheel pump on this unit with anything bigger? If so, what did you use?

I've had really good service out of the Rio pumps, I have what I believe is a 2100, and it's over 8 years old. I replaced the impellar several years back and it wasn't even worn enough, as I Micrometered both impellars. There are instructions on the web for converting them to impellar air injection for about $4(max) worth of parts.
90Overflow, wet dry, home made skimmer; self cleaning, w/800 rio. Two return pumps, one off at night. 384W PC. Reverse flow under/over gravel filter. Fish, LR, some corals. Aquarium has over head matching cabinet.
